Chevy Camaro Z/28 -- 77th Indy 500 -- May 30, 1993
The newly redesigned Camaro was selected as the Indy pace car in 1993 - becoming the first car to hold the honor four times.
This was Chevrolet's ninth appearance at the Brickyard Raceway.
The track cars were completly stock Z/28's, powered by a RPO 5.7L, 275-horsepower V-8 powerplant.
The only improvement Chevrolet deemed nessessary for the actual pace car was to install a Corvette 4-speed Automatic Transmission.
The '93 pace car was driven by Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins, who had previously driven the 1990 Beretta.
Only 645 Camaro Z/28 Indy replicas were built, with 125 of those used for parade duty at the speedway.
This example is all original with 5,953 actual miles - Registered as Indy Festival Car #210.
Additional options include AC, Cruise control, Remote hatch release, fog lamps, Power seats and windows,
T-tops, Delco Bose AM-FM radio w/CD player, Electric rear window defogger, and performance axle ratio.
